Description: “Draw it, build it, bring it to life! In the after-school STUDIO Arts Club, students explore a wide range of mediums—from sketching and painting to sculpture and mixed media. With each hands-on project, artists learn to express ideas creatively, solve design challenges, and refine their technique. It’s a space to create boldly, think visually, and grow in confidence—one masterpiece at a time.”
The after-school STUDIO Art Club is a creative, hands-on space where young artists dive deep into the visual arts. From drawing and painting to sculpture and design, students explore artistic techniques, develop their own style, and bring their ideas to life. Along the way, they build confidence, refine their craft, and experience the joy of creating in community.

MRS. PAULA COSTELLO, Lions’ Den Director
Mrs. Costello comes to DCS with extensive experience in the classroom and aftercare programs, having previously worked for several years in the aftercare program at Mount Vernon School with different age groups. She currently works at the Dunwoody Baptist Church preschool as the science teacher as well as leading after-school enrichment classes for the preschool. She also is a regular on Sunday mornings in the Dunwoody Baptist children’s ministry, serving in the classrooms and church nursery. Mrs. Costello is organized, creative, and a strong Christian who brings a spirit of service to our DCS families. She is from Canada and has been married to her husband, Kent, for 27 years. They have lived in Sandy Springs for 23 years and have four amazing children. We are excited that she and her incredible team are leading the DCS Lions’ Den program.

Parents must use PikMyKid to register their student(s) for each day they plan to use Lions’ Den. Click here for the Lions’ Den Manual with instructions. Parents will be invoiced monthly.

MRS. PAULA COSTELLO, Lions’ Den Director
Mrs. Costello comes to DCS with extensive experience in the classroom and aftercare programs, having previously worked for several years in the aftercare program at Mount Vernon School with different age groups. She currently works at the Dunwoody Baptist Church preschool as the science teacher as well as leading after-school enrichment classes for the preschool. She also is a regular on Sunday mornings in the Dunwoody Baptist children’s ministry, serving in the classrooms and church nursery. Mrs. Costello is organized, creative, and a strong Christian who brings a spirit of service to our DCS families. She is from Canada and has been married to her husband, Kent, for 27 years. They have lived in Sandy Springs for 23 years and have four amazing children. We are excited that she and her incredible team are leading the DCS Lions’ Den program.
